With the holidays right around the corner, it’s important that you plan for time away from work to rest and recharge for the new year.
Consider the following tips:
- Check your PTO balance, and determine how you’ll use your time away from work through the end of 2020 and into 2021. Keep in mind, if you don’t use all of your PTO days in 2020, you can rollover up to five unused PTO days into 2021. You’ll be able to use any PTO days you’ve carried over through Labor Day, 2021.
- As you start to schedule meetings for 2021, consider allowing for wellbeing breaks. When scheduling 2021 meetings with co-workers, think about balancing not only meeting time, but the time in-between meetings. This is especially important for those who will continue to work from home into the new year. For example, you may want to set meetings to end ten minutes before the top of the hour to give yourself, and your co-workers, time for a wellbeing break before the next scheduled meeting begins.
- Take advantage of the new Supports program through ABC. This program gives you access to resources designed to help better manage your ongoing work, family, and personal responsibilities. Learn more.
- Explore healthy habits and start with fresh goals for 2021. Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), through ABC Healthcare, offers a number of resources to help you take stock of your life and decide if you need to make changes in the year ahead—from career to health to family to education to finances. Get started.
